Welcome to my world!

What is the purpose of this site? It's actually twofold.

My husband and I decided that we were going to have a lifestyle change and get healthy! I thought it would be nice to keep a digital diary of our progress, and possibly interact with others who are on the same path we are. It would be great to get healthy recipes, learn exercise tips, maybe even hiking routes in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

The rules for this new lifestyle are simple.Run away from fast food!

1. No more buying fast food every day, eating unhealthy snacks, and midnight meals.This means no daily intake of soda, no Wendy's, no White Castle. But wait, we are not giving it up entirely, we will have a designated cheat day where we can go outside of the normal bounds and have some "better" fast food. (You can't expect us to go cold turkey, right??)

2. No more sitting around all day. No more laziness! Let's go do stuff!!

We will cook healthier food, find healthy recipes that taste great, and be more active. We can post some favorite finds to share with others, and if you have a great recipe please let us know!

Feel sore or feel sorry!

We can start by easing into exercise and getting rid of the unhealthy habits that have been plaguing us. Small steps are still steps in the right direction.

In the future I want to run another half marathon, take my dogs to the beach, and just enjoy the outdoors whenever I can. Now that we are in Florida we should have more nice weather...right?!!

The other purpose of the site is for me to keep track of all of the great finds that I come across, such as healthy habits for students. It can be via internet goodness, or things I come across with my day to day activities. Be prepared to see pictures and links to many things :)

Sounds easy enough, doesn't it?! I have started and stopped before, and it's really hard to get back in the groove when being lazy is so easy....
